Job Description

Are you an experienced Class 2 Driver with a strong work ethic, ready to contribute to the essential work of road maintenance?
Tradestaff is recruiting for a Class 2 Driver/Labourer to join one of our valued clients based in Thames, Waikato.
This is an excellent opportunity to combine driving and manual labor in a vital role for the community.

About the Role:In this role, you’ll be driving a Class 2 truck while assisting with various road maintenance tasks across the Thames region. From transporting equipment and materials to helping with hands-on labor, you’ll play an essential part in keeping local roads safe and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a Class 2 truck for the transportation of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Assisting with road maintenance work such as pothole repairs, resurfacing, and drainage work.
  • Loading and unloading materials, operating basic machinery, and assisting with manual labor tasks.
  • Ensuring safety standards and health regulations are adhered to on-site.
  • Carrying out general labor duties to support road crews and contractors.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed and vehicle inspections.
  • Ensuring all transport operations comply with road safety and legal requirements.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid Class 2 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience as a Class 2 driver, ideally with experience in road maintenance or construction.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor tasks.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
  • Reliable and hardworking, with a positive attitude and a team-oriented approach.
  • Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Full New Zealand driver’s license and reliable transport.
