We are looking for a practitioner with three to five years’ experience, to join Tania Goatley and her team as a lawyer or associate in the IP, Media and Advertising practice within Bell Gully’s Auckland office.
Our IP, Media and Advertising team engage with clients on all aspects of intellectual property (including trademarks, copyright, patents and passing off) as well as in the complementary areas of media law (covering advertising, defamation, Fair Trading Act issues, food and beverage law, promotions, privacy and data protection). The ideal candidate will already have experience working in some of these areas and be keen to take the next step in their development.
This role provides the opportunity of dealing directly with clients and building relationships. Candidates should have excellent research, communication, analytical and drafting skills, have excellent attention to detail, be professional and self-motivated, and able to apply critical legal thinking skills to real world IP and promotional issues.
Skills and experience
- Three to five years’ experience;
- Preferably previous experience advising on advertising law and/or intellectual property;
- Strong academic grades;
- A desire to join a collegial and high performing team; and
- Right to work in New Zealand
