Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Governance Services Officer to join their team. In this role, you will work closely with the Governance Services Lead, providing high-quality administrative support and advice to Council, its Committees, Sub-Committees, and Community Boards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the implementation and improvement of Governance Policy and Practice.

About the role:

As a Governance Services Officer, reporting directly to the Governance Services Lead, you will be responsible for;

  • Providing high quality and efficient governance meeting services
  • Preparing board minutes for council, committee, and community meetings
  • Ensuring all processes adhere to relevant legislation
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Timely provision of support services


About you:

  • 3 years + experience in a governance support role or similar.
  • You would be proficient in capturing and preparing high-quality governance meeting minutes and have sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to local government!
  • Proven experience in building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess strong planning, organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Have a full NZ drivers licence
