Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Have you got the vision, foresight, and autonomous management skills to support the creation of show stopping events from concept through to implementation? Are you a dab hand at organising, anticipating the unexpected, and pulling everything together in spectacular form whilst building and maintaining excellent relationships?

If so here’s your opportunity to operationalise and produce our diverse portfolio of exhibition events through consistently delivering exceptional, highly engaging events to deliver year on year growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Leadership and stakeholder relations: Lead, support and motivate direct report(s) to be successful in their role and provide high quality stakeholder service.
  • Event calendar and supplier engagement: Using industry knowledge and competitor analysis, confirm annual event dates and negotiate favourable venue hire rates and supplier arrangements.
  • Operations and cost management: Create comprehensive operational systems and event management plans, coupled with strong budgeting and prudent fiscal management.
  • Event strategy and planning: End-to-end operational planning and flawless execution of events across New Zealand.
  • Product development: uncover opportunities that enhance the event experience for both attendees and exhibitors.
  • Marketing and communications: Implement exhibitor communications plans, coordinate the at-event social media content plan, and support marketing initiatives.


ABOUT YOU:

  • At least 5+ years’ senior level event management experience with proven project management skills.
  • Experience in a sole-charge management role providing strong team leadership.
  • Foster a positive work culture among the team, leading with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, juggling deadlines, budgets and operational planning.
  • Stakeholder management skills with high customer service expectations and negotiation abilities.
  • Commercial acumen that helps to deliver revenue growth.
  • A can-do, positive outlook with a ‘think outside the square’ attitude and the ability to think innovatively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and forward planning skills.
