Job Description

  • NZ-owned fund manager with a strong, positive culture
  • Clear career development pathways into wealth advice
  • Proven track record of strong investment performance

This active funds manager is experiencing significant growth. Due to continued success and an increasing level of funds under management, they are now looking to appoint a Wealth Management Associate to support their established team of Wealth Advisers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide proactive support to Wealth Advisers, ensuring the team delivers optimal client outcomes through collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of processes within the wealth team, enabling effective workflow management and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist in preparing, drafting, and proofing investment proposals and Statements of Advice under the guidance of a Wealth Adviser.
  • Support client onboarding by guiding new clients through the Wealth Service process, including phone or face-to-face interactions.
  • Schedule meetings and prepare client review and rebalancing documentation to facilitate regular client engagement and portfolio updates.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly performance reports, year-end tax reports, and ad-hoc client reporting requests.
  • Manage a designated group of smaller wealth clients under the guidance of a Wealth Adviser, gaining experience in client relationship management.
  • Begin developing financial planning and investment advisory skills, with structured mentorship from senior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to client interactions, recordkeeping, and data privacy.

About You:

  • Experience in administrative support for client relationships or client services within the Funds Management or Wealth Management industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning principles, investment products, and risk management.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to improving processes and the client experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in responding to changing client needs, market conditions, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong risk management awareness, ensuring compliance and best practices in client interactions and portfolio administration.
  • Career aspiration to become a Wealth Adviser, with a demonstrated interest in investment advisory and financial planning.

This is a high performing, upbeat, and dynamic team, providing first class investment advice to clients and a compelling opportunity for someone currently operating in a similar capacity within a fund or wealth manager, with a strong interest in pursuing a career in financial advice—specifically focused on investments—with a clear pathway to becoming a Wealth Adviser.
