He aha te mahi? What's the role?
The Head of Global Optimisation is pivotal in the end-to-end optimisation and allocation of our annual crop from all origins to markets. The purpose of this position is to deliver optimised orchard gate return results within the context of a long-term market-development strategy, combined with annual market and crop conditions.
In this key global role, you will lead a highly capable team that reviews the global annual integrated business plan and associated adjustments following each crop and allocation update. You will empower your team to work cross-functionally and collaboratively, ensuring the development of a feasible and executable business plan. This plan will adapt to changes in crop signals, market conditions, and supply chain constraints, keeping it current and ready for execution by the business.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Lead and enhance Zespri's Best Practice global optimisation and market allocation within IBP systems, driving continuous improvement with an emphasis on standardization and simplification.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration at a senior leadership level with Territory Presidents, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations, and Commercial Finance to ensure cohesive planning and execution.
- Lead a highly capable team who are empowered to make decisions within their functional area.
- Lead the monthly market allocation plan (MAP) and departure plan (SNP) release process, ensuring a summarised report is delivered to the Executive IBP team.
- Provide input, prioritisation guidance, and support decision making to solve significant issues related to supply constraints, market issues, and potential MAP changes.
- Lead the long-term global demand optimisation and allocation process, including oversight of analysis and determination of crop allocation options.
- Define OGR focused analytics to facilitate identifying opportunities for incremental OGR value creation.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a tertiary qualification in IBP, operations, finance or management and experience in a complex global organisation. You will also have:
- Relevant senior experience across commercial finance, IBP, supply chain or operations functions
- Expertise in IBP and broader operational intersections and processes, to identify continuous improvement opportunities in our current processes and practices
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to execute against strategy
- Excellent leadership and influencing skills
- Experience dealing with different geographies / jurisdictions
- A collaborative and logical approach
- Sound communication and presentation skills.
