About the Role
As an Packaging Lead Forklift Driver at Apata, you'll play a vital role in our efficient and high-quality packhouse operations. You will be responsible for leading a small team in the packaging process while also skillfully operating a forklift to ensure smooth and timely product movement. This is a hands-on position requiring both leadership and practical skills.
The Role Will Involve
- Leading and supervising a small team of packaging staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
- Operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move pallets of kiwifruit and avocados within the packhouse. ๐
- Ensuring the accurate and efficient packaging of produce, adhering to quality control standards. ๐ฆ
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe working environment. ๐งผ
- Contributing to the overall productivity and efficiency of the packhouse. ๐ช
- Assisting with other packhouse duties as required. ๐

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Proven experience in a team leadership role
- Current and valid forklift license. ๐
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferably within the horticulture industry
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the role
