Job Description

If you call Queenstown home, then you already know the TSS Earnslaw and Spirit of Queenstown—the beloved "Lady of the Lake" with over 110 years of history and the modern catamaran offering scenic journeys on the lake. We're on the lookout for a dynamic leader to steer the team of Hosts on these legendary vessels.

In this leadership role, you'll be a key player in the Whakatipu Operations team, ensuring your team receives comprehensive training and the tools needed to deliver the exceptional RealNZ experiences we're famous for. Your days will be spent leading by example, showcasing top-notch food & beverage and guest service skills, upselling other RealNZ experiences, and keeping daily operations sailing smoothly.

What we're looking for:

  • You'll have at least a year of leadership experience, a solid background in food and beverage (including bar and barista skills)
  • A proven knack for hosting and delivering outstanding guest service
  • A Duty Manager Certificate (held for at least two years) is essential
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • If you have maritime experience, that's a bonus!
  • You'll also need to be eligible to work for at least six months.

This is a unique opportunity to make an impact right here in Queenstown. If you're ready to take charge and help create unforgettable experiences on these iconic vessels, we'd love to chat!

What's in It for You?

  • Enjoy some incredible staff perks! Bring a friend along to experience RealNZ's unforgettable adventures, either for free or at a fantastic discount. It's an amazing opportunity to experience the best of New Zealand without breaking the bank!
  • Medical Insurance cover
  • Free Cardrona x Treble Cone pass (summer & winter)

Real people, real places, real experiences. Welcome to the Real Office.

When's the best time to join the Real whānau? Now's good.

We're the conservation business that's enabled by tourism. We're helping the world, one guest at a time, fall in love with conservation. We're inspiring people to leave their places in better conditions than when they found them. We channel a guest-centric approach that fuels our genuine promise to deliver Aotearoa's most unforgettable experiences.

It's our office environment that makes careers at RealNZ more exciting than the regular job. Working for Real could mean you're based anywhere between a secluded island, a scenic fiord, and a snow-capped maunga. Our people, places, and workdays are a great and diverse mixture. It keeps us on our toes and adds value and passion to our work.
