Ko waimātou – About us
Kia ora. We’re Foodies. You know New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square right? That’s us!
With 300+ stores and over 24,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Maui, our North Island Co-op has the privilege of helping New Zealanders get more out of life. Locally owned, we reflect the communities we serve, and we celebrate our people - our taonga, every day for being uniquely them.
Our Support Centre is 1,000+ people strong, which includes 300+ IT employees, who all play a vital role in ensuring the cogs of our Co-op stay turning and our systems stay ‘byte’-sized and ‘bug’-free.”
Te Tūranga – About the role
(Please note – this is a 12-month maternity leave contract)
Are you passionate about crafting intuitive and seamless digital experiences? Do you thrive on balancing people, processes, and technology to create user-centric solutions? If so, this is your opportunity to step into a leadership role and shape the future of SAP UX at Foodstuffs North Island! As our SAP User Experience Designer, you'll be a key leader within the Enterprise Systems team, driving the SAP UX strategy across one of New Zealand’s largest SAP landscapes. You'll collaborate with developers, SAP architects, and business stakeholders to design and deliver cutting-edge, user-friendly solutions that power our business.
What you will do:
- Lead UX Strategy & Governance – Own and evolve the Enterprise Systems UX strategy, ensuring best practices in design, usability, and accessibility across our SAP applications.
- Design for Impact – Develop intuitive, people-first solutions that enhance usability and efficiency across SAP Fiori, SuccessFactors, SAP Analytics Cloud, and S/4HANA.
- Collaborate & Innovate – Work closely with business process owners, SAP architects, and development teams to co-create innovative SAP solutions that drive agility and transformation.
- Enhance & Support – Lead the ongoing development and support of SAP Fiori applications, ensuring seamless user experiences across our enterprise platforms.
Ngā painga - What we offer
We’re committed to providing awesome experiences for our people, including offering a range of benefits:
· Free carparking - we’ve got over 1,000 carparks including 36 free EV plugs
· Southern cross health insurance, Foodies superannuation scheme
· Onsite café with subsidised meals, mini mart, 5% discount at our retail stores
· Flexible working options, a day off on your birthday, long service leave
· Inhouse learning and development programmes and courses, flu vaccinations, and social network groups (we call them Tribes).
He kōrero mōu - About you
You're not just a UX expert—you’re a collaborative influencer who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You are a proactive problem-solver who excels at working independently. You also embrace change with confidence, pivot when needed, and seamlessly work across teams to bring innovative experiences to life. With strong communication skills, you can translate complex design concepts into compelling stories that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
You welcome feedback as an opportunity to grow, continuously refining solutions to deliver the best user experience possible. Your adaptability, resilience, and ability to navigate shifting priorities make you a key player in driving transformation.
While SAP skills are beneficial, they are not essential for this role – what’s important is a strong foundation in enterprise user experience. We value your ability to learn and adapt quickly, and we are committed to support your growth in this area.
Essential skills and expertise:
- Enterprise UX - Proven experience in designing user experiences for enterprise applications, best practise service design, and UX strategy development.
- Design & Prototyping Expertise – Proficient in Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar tools, with a strong foundation in user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
- Strategic & Agile Thinker – Ability to develop UX roadmaps, work within agile frameworks, and adapt quickly to changing project needs.
- Cross-Functional Leadership – Strong communicator who can align technical and non-technical stakeholders, collaborate across teams, and champion design thinking.
Desirable skills and expertise:
- SAP Mastery – Proven expertise in understanding SAP Fiori, UI5, SAP Design System.
- Technical & Analytical Mindset – Knowledge of SAP integration technologies, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Analytics Cloud, and data visualization best practices.
If you're looking for an opportunity to lead, innovate, and drive meaningful change, we’d love to hear from you!
