Seaview Marina is owned by the Hutt City Council, known as a Council Controlled Trading Organisation, yet operates with the freedom of a commercial entity. Recognised as a fast-developing, modern, safe, and well-serviced marina, Seaview Marina caters to vessels ranging from 24 metres in length to trailer-sized boats. It offers the most extensive hardstand and haul-out facilities for commercial and pleasure craft in Wellington. With a mission to provide value-for-money services in pleasant surroundings, we pride ourselves on meeting customer needs while upholding an excellent reputation.
About the role
As our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Supervisor, you'll take the lead in developing and maintaining robust Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS) to ensure a safe and compliant environment for everyone on-site. Acting as the central point of contact for health, safety, and wellbeing, you'll champion engagement with safety practices, coordinate training and audits, and provide expert advice on legislative compliance. You'll also contribute to reporting, and to initiatives that enhance awareness of health, safety and wellbeing at Seaview Marina. This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities in a fast-paced marina environment where no two days are the same.
What you'll bring
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 2015).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing health and safety systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to fostering a safety-first culture.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a dynamic operational environment.
