Job Description
Our client is seeking an Information Security Consultant to join their team in Wellington. This role is pivotal in conducting security assurance activities and contributing to a range of areas including security risk assessment, audits, technical validation, and certification activities. The successful candidate will provide security expertise, assist in security awareness campaigns, and act as a subject matter expert in information security. What you'll do:
As an Information Security Consultant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our client's information systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing security risk assessments, reviewing third-party reports, running risk workshops, and conducting regular security assurance activities. You will also be responsible for auditing the implementation of solutions and communicating findings to various stakeholders within the organisation. Furthermore, you will contribute towards enhancing the organisation's overall security posture by participating in security awareness training initiatives.
- Perform security risk assessments and review reports from third parties
- Assist and run risk workshops
- Conduct regular security assurance activities including tasks such as access reviews, configuration reviews
- Audit the implementation of solutions
- Communicate findings and risk positions to a range of staff including project teams and management
- Contribute towards security awareness training throughout the organisation.

You have the ability to influence customers, suppliers, and partners at an account level. Your experience includes investigating, defining, and resolving complex issues. You are proficient in selecting appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools, and applications. You can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, you have experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring work to meet time and quality targets.
