Job Description

Job Description
The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

We are seeking a Development Manager to join our Alumni Relations & Development (ARD) team and connect our vital work to our individual donors, corporate sponsors, and charitable partners. The position's main purpose is to raise philanthropic funds for undergraduate scholarships through the effective development and implementation of a coordinated and integrated Philanthropic Scholarships Plan.

Developing and managing relationships with individual prospects and corporate partners to secure significant philanthropic gifts for scholarships will be a key focus. Leveraging your interpersonal skills, you will effectively engage and steward donors, ensuring their contributions are acknowledged and valued. By collaborating with our Associate Director Development, senior leaders, and the ARD team, you will provide a comprehensive programme of recognition and engagement for major donors. Managing a portfolio of scholarship donors will be an essential part of the role.

This position offers the unique advantage of not being limited to a specific portfolio within the university. Instead, you will work across all areas and collaborate with other Development Managers at the University of Auckland. This cross-functional approach allows for a broader impact and the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of donors and projects.

You will contribute to the development of strategic and annual operational plans for the scholarships fundraising function, develop and implement KPIs, and actively manage stewardship of all scholarship donors. Financial management will be key, as you will closely monitor that donor scholarships are awarded, and funds are received and spent as specified. In addition, you will manage one direct report, attend regular meetings, and undertake projects as directed by the Associate Director of Development.

This is a full time (37.5 hours/ week) permanent position, with a salary range of $117,901 - $120,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. For more information, please see the Position Description attached.
