Job Description
Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor to join their team in Auckland. This role presents the chance to work on market-leading employment wor kand a regular flow of cross border, multi-jurisdictional work.
Robert Walters have partnered with a top tier law firm on the recruitment a Solicitor or Associate into their leading Employment practice.
The role will work alongside two market leading Partners where you will work with and learn from the best and get exposure to interesting and complex matters. They are a busy, growing team and both roles will have plenty of opportunities for development and advancement.
There will also be opportunities for international training and a regular flow of cross border, multi-jurisdictional work.

Your work will include the full range of employment advice, including:
- Acting for large employers in relation to personal grievances and employment disputes, from mediation through to the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court;
- Advising on all aspects of relationships with unions, including disputes, industrial action, collective bargaining strategy and collective agreements;
- The management of all workplace issues, including poor performance, misconduct and restructuring/redundancy;
- Advising businesses on the employment aspects of M&A transactions;
- Advising employers on compliance with New Zealand's statutory employment framework, including the Holidays Act, Minimum Wage Act, Wages Protection Act, Equal Pay Act and the proposed fair pay agreements legislation.
About you:
We're looking for people with experience in employment law who have:
- At least 2 years PQE however all candidates will be considered on merit;
- Strong academic grades;
- Desire to contribute to a high performing team;
- Drive and ambition to succeed;
- Strong technical and written skills and enjoy building relationships with clients; and
- The firm are happy to consider candidates from all common law jurisdictions with the desire to work in NZ.
