Job Description

PlaceMakers Wanaka are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trade Support specialist.

  • This role is a permanent, full-time position.
  • Full training provided to ensure your success in this role.


The role:

Working as part of a busy office team, our Trade Support specialists are the concierges of the construction industry. Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Builders, and our own Account Managers will turn to you for support. Whatever they need, you will learn to find, price, and order.

You will be required to work simultaneously on a range of tasks, often independently with minimal instruction:

  • Research and gather product information and present to sales teams or customers
  • Respond to phone & email enquiries
  • Provide detailed information and advice to customers, suppliers, and staff
  • Process quotes, orders, and sales
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on contracts, orders, and sales



What you will bring:

Formal training or experience will be an advantage but not necessary. We will be looking for the following range of interpersonal and soft skills to do the job brilliantly.

  • Very organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks to tight deadlines
  • Industry knowledge is a plus but a willingness to learn is a must
  • A team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding phone manner and etiquette
