Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Contract Administrator to join our close-knit friendly team based in Timaru.
As our Contract Administrator you will play a vital role supporting the South Canterbury team with their contracts and ongoing projects.
The role offers responsibility and autonomy so you must be highly organised with plenty of initiative. This will be a busy and varied role, and you will be tasked with ensuring both the contract and financial administration functions are carried out to a consistently high level of service and provide quality administration and contract support services to team members.
Duties include:
- Raising and processing of purchase orders and invoices and raising of work orders
- Assisting in administrating the delivery of contract services to our client
- Updating of jobs and processing of claims
- Provide administration and contract support services
- Implement organisation and improvement of data filing and data capture systems
- Assisting in the production of financial/KPI/monthly reports
- Job management and data entry into RAMM and RAMM Contractor
- Responding to customer enquiries
- Liaise with various departments, other administrators and internal managers
- Assist with a wide variety of financial and administrative tasks and be flexible and adaptable to changing policies & processes
- Coordinate and collate information, input information into databases as required and complete tasks in time to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
- Commitment to zero harm processes and stand in the gap when required
- Other general office administration as required
You will also ensure administrative functions are carried out to a high standard and there is continuous improvement in our systems and processes.

Your pleasant and friendly demeanour, highly organised approach and excellent data entry skills will ensure you are successful in this role. Your positive can-do attitude and ability to learn new tasks will see you thrive. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Previous financial management and administration experience in a similar role ideally in a client facing position
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Proficient and experienced in MS Office suite
- JD Edwards (or similar) and RAMM experience would be an advantage
- Excellent data entry skills with high levels of attention to detail
- Excellent organisation skills along with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in building and maintaining relationships at all levels
- The ability to show initiative and be innovative in your work approach is essential as is common sense and a sense of humour
