The Company
Do you want to work for a well-established, growing structural design firm with a diverse workload?

A specialist structural engineering consultancy are looking for an Intermediate (Graduate also considered) Structural Design Engineer to join their growing consultancy in Tauranga, in the sunny Bay of Plenty.

They have a diverse and growing workload including residential, commercial, light industrial and heavy industry. The job involves all aspects of the project lifecycle, from meeting with clients and discussing initial design options, concept design, detailed design and drafting work through to site investigations, site assistance and observation.

The Role

  • Structural design, working on everything from house beams and foundations to industrial buildings, commercial premises and seismic assessments & strengthening
  • Prepare fee proposals for potential projects
  • Site assessments including scala penetrometer testing, soakage testing and site suitability
  • Work independently or collaboratively on a range of projects
  • Carry out site inspections and site observation, meeting with clients and contractors on site


About You

  • Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering (Washington Accord)
  • Experience working in a New Zealand based design consultancy
  • Able to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Experience liaising and working with contractors, architects and other consultants
  • Sound report writing and communications skills
