He angitūtanga / The opportunity:
Compass Group NZ are looking for a Permanent Full Time Catering Supervisor to work at our sites in Canterbury, Christchurch.
Minimum of 40 hours a week with the hourly rate ranging from $29.66 - $31.61, during education terms only. As the employee is working within a school or educational institution, you will have normal working hours in accordance with the roster during the term time only. You may be offered additional hours of work during term breaks.
Our operation is 7 days a week, you must be available to work a rotating roster, which includes weekend work.
Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for supervising the front of house areas, including being the main point of contact during service periods for our Residents.
- Similar to a Maître d / Host role along with service management.
- As our customers are generally 18yrs - 22yrs old, having strong communication skills to this demographic is a must.
- You will be responsible for the completion of our Food Control Plan and Allergen Management, alongside our Chef's.
- Health and Safety is our number 1 rule, you will be an advocate and role model for safety in the work place.
- You must be confident with Microsoft applications and computer use.
He kōrero mōu / About you:
Our ideal candidate;
- Will have a good understanding of Allergen and Food Control Plan management
- Be hard working, have excellent communication skills, with a friendly outgoing personality.
- Ideally you will already have 3 - 5 years experience working in a commercial kitchen.
- Having experience in supervising catering in a tertiary education residential environment is a MUST.
- You will need to have the ability to work independently and confidently
- Most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
