As a Tenancy Account Specialist, you'll be at the heart of ensuring the financial health of our tenants and supporting sustainable tenancies. While recovering debt is a crucial aspect of the job, it's just as vital to make sure we offer support or guide tenants to services that can genuinely help improve their financial health.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Managing tenant accounts in Green Tree, ensuring smooth adherence to our established business processes.
- Delving into the roots of current and past tenant debts to gain valuable insights.
- Designing and implementing effective debt recovery strategies.
- Working with stakeholders to actively address debt recovery so that our tenants may continue living in their homes successfully.
- Keeping meticulous records of tenant debts across all portfolios to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Listening to and engaging with tenants respectfully, understand their financial challenges, and collaborate closely with the Tenancy Relationship Manager to offer effective support.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
- A relevant professional qualification (NZQA Level 5 or above) or solid industry experience.
- Proven expertise in debt recovery, investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with the Residential Tenancies Act 1986, mediation, Tenancy Tribunal, and Ministry of Justice processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (at an intermediate level).
- Knowledge of the community housing sector and welfare benefit system.
- A valid NZ driver's license.
