About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator for the Rest Home (Edinburgh) Unit at Rowena Jackson Retirement Village, located in Invercargill. The role includes working Sunday to Thursday, 0800 - 1630 with a shared on-call component.
As the Rest home Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always "good enough for mum and dad"
- Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team
- Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident within the rest home Unit
- Actively engage with resident's families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships
- Ensure your team embrace a range of beliefs, ethnicities, gender, sexuality, and principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments
- Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members or residents and families as needed
- Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust
- Participate as a positive and trusting member of a team that works together as one
- Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager
About You
To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:
- A current APC (annual practising certificate)
- interRAI training or willingness to gain competency
- Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader
- The ability to lead, share knowledge and motivate your team
- Kindness, compassion, and drive, to deliver exceptional care to our residents
- Flexibility to share responsibilities of the on-call component with other Unit Coordinators as per a roster coordinated by the Village Manager
