The opportunity:
As Head of Investments, you’ll be responsible for driving the investment strategy and outcomes for AIA New Zealand’s assets. Leading a high-performing function, you’ll ensure our investment portfolio aligns with both local policyholder interests and AIA Group’s investment framework. Operating at a senior level, you’ll engage with executive leadership, the Board, and key stakeholders to optimise performance, manage risk, and deliver strategic investment solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving investment strategy, ensuring alignment with AIA Group’s investment framework
- Overseeing portfolio management performance across internal and external asset managers
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including executive teams, Group Investments, and service providers
- Leading investment governance, risk management, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Providing strategic input on asset allocation and oversee approved investment recommendations
- Managing reporting and presentations for the Board, Financial Risk Committee, and Investment Committee
- Fostering a high-performance culture, supporting capability development and team success.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 15+ years of industry experience, including 10+ years in investment leadership roles
- Strong financial acumen and a deep understanding of investment structures and platforms
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships at executive and board levels
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
- Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on team empowerment and performance
- A finance degree or relevant qualification.
