At Westpac we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance. As part of a pan-bank initiative managed from our Transformation Office, we are seeking experienced AML Consultants to join our dynamic project team. The team is dedicated to conducting compliance checks on customers onboarded prior to June 2013 to meet our AML/CFT regulatory obligations.

As a AML Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customer information is thoroughly reviewed for completeness and accuracy. This involves collaborating with various stakeholders to obtain additional information and verification documents where necessary, aligning with the Bank’s current onboarding and customer due diligence standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive compliance checks on customers onboarded prior to June 2013.
  • Reviewing customer information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Engaging directly with customers to obtain required information and verification documents.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the network, including PCC Project Team, CB&W and IBB Risk teams, Relationship Managers and Customer facing teams.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of AML/CFT policies and procedures.
  • Providing expert guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Proven experience in customer service roles within financial institutions with excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of requirements under AML compliance, with a focus on customer due diligence
  • 2+ years relevant experience in a similar level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and completeness
