Job Description

You need to be committed to policy and advising Ministers. You will also be a trusted communicator, able to brief Ministers, senior officials and Select Committee and facilitate interagency processes on complex system issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead policy projects from start to finish, defining problems and delivering high-quality solutions.
- Advocate for Māori communities by understanding their unique challenges and contributing to cross-sector efforts.
- Work closely with Ministers and senior officials to provide timely, high-quality advice.
- Mentor and develop policy analysts, helping them grow in their roles.
- Flexibly contribute across the wider policy programme.
What You’ll Bring:
- In-depth knowledge of policy, with a strong interest in social policy.
- Strong understanding of government systems and political processes.
- Skilled in analytical frameworks and evidence-based decision-making.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to policy challenges.
