Job Description

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

This role provides support to the Director Verification Services who leads our large and complex Verification Services directorate which is part of New Zealand Food Safety.

In addition to regular administration and coordination activities to support the Director, you will also support priority events and pieces of work as required and work with the wider team to build a cohesive approach to business support.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Director's daily schedule via effective diary, event, and meeting management and provide personal assistance/secretarial services
  • Facilitating the smooth running of the Director's offices by providing general administrative and logistical support
  • Coordinating corporate service management activities by assisting with budget, personnel, and IT processes
  • Identifying any relevant system and process improvement opportunities
  • Ensuring efficient and consistent administrative and logistical support by maintaining awareness of relevant MPI corporate policies, procedures, and systems


Mōu - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in a range of administrative and coordination activities with a busy and technical environment. While you may not have been an Executive Coordinator before, will have strong administration, business support, and coordination experience.

You will have strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and be confident in working with a range of stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.

You will also have excellent time management, prioritisation, and customer services skills with good computer literancy and the ability to be flexible and adaptable as required.
