The Company
This role will look after 3 key business units and is part of a well-renowned Group that is a market leader in their industry. The role will assume responsibilities under an impressive FC who is committed to mentoring this person within the business by providing exposure across the full finance function and to senior leadership. You will lead the management reporting and analysis, including partnering with the branch network on budgeting and forecasting. You will also lead a small team with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
The Role
The role of Finance Manager is very broad and will suit a career driven Accountant looking to grow their career with this business. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Responsibility for oversight and leading the monthly financial reporting process including analysis and insights with full commentary for review
- Preparation of reports and reporting packs for each of the business units and providing analysis and identifying actions for business improvements
- Maintenance and enhancements of systems to ensure all reporting confirms to IFRS and Group policies
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and manage thereon
- Formal staff management of up to 4 staff members
- Preparation of the annual budgeting process and assisting the Financial Controller with long-term strategic planning
- Support the annual audit process
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the team whilst performing a 2IC role to the FC
- Any other ad hoc duties as required, including a strong focus on driving out accounting best practises and process improvements
Your profile:
To be considered for this role, we are looking for the following:
- A dynamic and career driven individual
- A continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated ability to influence change
- Proven experience across budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Ideally some commercial experience in a fluid and complex environment
- A good sense of humour and desire to contribute to team dynamics
- Excellent ability to communicate across the business at all levels
- CA/CPA or other relevant professional qualification

- You must have relevant work experience in NZ as well as full working rights.
