Job Description
About the Role:
Well-maintained and safe for our residents. You will address and resolve maintenance-related issues, perform necessary repairs, and liaise with contractors. Your tasks will include minor carpentry, painting, and redecorating as needed. You will also work closely with residents and facility management to solve any general maintenance issues.
Duties include:
- Ensuring presentation of the property is maintained to a high standard
- Efficiently completing all maintenance requirements to approved standards
- Accurate record-keeping per the Disability Sector Standard and the Building Compliance Act
- Supervising external maintenance contractors
- Minor carpentry, painting and redecorating where required
- Ensuring all hand tools and power tools are in good working order
- Storerooms kept clean and tidy, with sufficient stock on hand to ensure uninterrupted service
- Procure materials needed for maintenance purposes
Additional Opportunities:
There is potential to take on additional work and engage in administrative and social activities for the Villas, depending on your interests and skills. The tasks would include, for the right candidate: creation and distribution of newsletters, communication materials (e.g., memos, flyers), and the preparation of monthly meeting minutes, and assist with organizing social activities for the village community once a week.

Skills and Experience:
- Current NZ Driver’s License
- Right to work in New Zealand
- Trade Certificate in a relevant field (or experience in a similar role)
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and building systems
- Experience in minor carpentry, painting and redecoration
- Experience in general property and grounds maintenance and repairs
- Organised, with attention to detail and a systematic, proactive approach
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to attend a course)
