Job Description

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

As the Senior Project Coordinator, you will provide administrative, technical, and project support across the Sector Support & Innovation team's work programme.

This is a small team and we're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between project conception and bringing the project to a point where the output service and/or product can be easily understood. You'll advise who it is for, why it is of value, and when and how it can be delivered. Visual representation and presentation of these elements is important in this role.

You will also be tasked with preparing meeting packs, supporting requirements of meetings for the Seafood Industry Forum, and the internal steering group. You'll liaise with internal stakeholders across Fisheries New Zealand and Policy and Trade, as well as external stakeholders in the New Zealand seafood industry at a Chief Executive and Ministerial level.

Mōu - About You

You will thrive in this challenging and busy role while demonstrating your strong ability to build effective working relationships and make a difference to significant strategic initiatives. You will be an experienced, driven and enthusiastic person, with high quality programme coordination skills. The role requires excellent organisation, communication and relationship building skills and the ability to identify and pick up new tasks as required.

You will bring:

  • Strong project management and logistical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong focus on providing high quality professional service
  • Self-motivation and an ability to work with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment
  • Skill in planning and priority management of time and work flows
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to act on your own initiative
  • An ability to manage your workload to ensure that deadlines are consistently met.
  • You do not need to meet all the role requirements to apply. We will welcome an application if you think you could make a great fit.
