Job Description
We are seeking a Fixed-term Part-time Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our wonderful team in New Plymouth. Lumino New Plymouth has been a family-oriented practice serving the community for over 20 years, with highly experienced clinicians and support staff.
As a Dental Assistant, you will support our team of skilled clinicians by assisting with a variety of interesting dental procedures during patient appointments. Your responsibilities will include instrument sterilization, infection control, and stock management. Additionally, you will occasionally assist at the reception, so being a people person is essential.
In your role as a Receptionist, you will be the face and voice of the practice. A typical day will involve assisting patients with their inquiries, generating and confirming appointment bookings, processing payments, handling banking, and performing other administrative duties as needed. This role is rewarding; no two days are the same, and it is gratifying to see patients leave with smiles on their faces!

Hours for the Role:
- Monday: 9:15 am - 2:45 pm
- Tuesday: 9:15 am - 2:45 pm
- Thursday: 9:15 am - 2:45 pm
This is a 1-year fixed-term role starting on Monday, the 3rd of February 2025, and ending on Thursday, the 18th of December 2025.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to bring:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant (required).
- Experience in sterilisation and customer service (preferred).
- A warm, positive attitude and a team-oriented approach.
- A strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency and the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
