Te Maioha o Parekarangi is one of four Youth Justice residences across New Zealand which is run by Oranga Tamariki - Ministry for Children. We provide a secure 24/7 environment for up to 30 challenging young people aged 14-17 who are on remand or sentenced via Youth Court. The residence promotes individual change and growth through specialist education services, clinical services, individual and group programmes, and physical activities.
Residential Night Attendants at Te Maioha o Parekarangi work rostered shifts covering the hours 10:00pm - 6:30am daily, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays. The purpose of the role is to provide supervision of young people within the residence and to ensure security of property and plant overnight.
We are looking for reliable, flexible and adaptable kaimahi, who have the ability to be self-directed in their work practices, have initiative, and demonstrate sound judgement. Good written and verbal communication skills are an essential requirement

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
• Full clean NZ drivers' license
• Be a strong team player and positive role model
• Experience in working rostered shifts/night shifts
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement with an ability to 'think on your feet'
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence across the Microsoft Office suite
Experience in social services, including working with at-risk children or youth is preferred, but not essential.
