Job Description

BestStart Ferry Road is looking for a passionate and dedicated Centre Manager to lead our vibrant and close-knit team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in building strong relationships with children, families, and the community.

Our purpose-built centre features three modern classrooms and spacious playgrounds, providing an engaging environment for learning and growth. Located in Woolston on Ferry Road, we take pride in our multicultural community and the strong connections we have built. Since opening, we have reached full occupancy, and our team is thriving. We are seeking a strong leader to continue the success and positive culture established by our departing Centre Manager.

About You

We are looking for a Centre Manager who:

  • Is an experienced and passionate leader with a strong understanding of curriculum, compliance, and team development.
  • Builds strong relationships with children, families, and the wider community.
  • Is driven to achieve results and foster a high-quality learning environment.
  • Brings a deep understanding of child-led curriculum, pedagogy, and Te Whāriki.
  • Is committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.
  • Has a Bachelor of Education (ECE) or Diploma of Teaching Level 7 and a current Teacher Certification.

The Role

As Centre Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated educators, ensuring high-quality learning experiences and a well-run centre. You will report to an Area Manager and be responsible for fostering a positive team culture, maintaining compliance, and delivering strong learning outcomes for children.

This is a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
