We are looking for a qualified Social Worker to support (taiohi) youth and their families in the Hauraki region.
Real | Mō mātou
We provide health and wellbeing services for taiohi aged between 12 to 24. We believe in the importance of community, connection and relationships – and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures.
The Whetū Marewa (Rising Star) services aims to build the confidence, resilience & wellbeing of taiohi (young people) with mental health and addiction related issues by enabling access to a range of supported interventions. Whetū Marewa provides mobile support in a community out-reach approach by offering a Registered Health Professional-led school and community-based clinics.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker to join our team in the Hauraki area! You will be drawing on your experience in working with young people and their whānau (families) in the Hauraki and Coromandel regions to improve their mental health and well-being. You will be working closely with taiohi and whānau to support them in their journey toward positive change and building stronger connections with their communities.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting taiohi and whānau: you’ll provide social work support to young people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges, helping them thrive in school, their community, and their family life.
- Community & Projects: Be involved in exciting projects that help people grow and become the best version of themselves.
- Team Support: Work alongside a dedicated team of Youth Workers to promote wellbeing, independence, and strong connections for the people we support.
You | Mōu
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, easy to connect with, and known for their genuine, caring nature. With your positive attitude and excellent communication skills, you’ll thrive as a collaborative team member, bringing energy and a sense of fun to the workplace;
- A current New Zealand Registered Social Worker.
- Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Tertiary Health qualification in social work, nursing, occupational therapy or alcohol and drug practitioner and registration with a professional body.
- A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- An understanding of what you need for your own wellbeing.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
