Join Auckland Council’s Heritage Unit as a Heritage Information Advisor! We’re seeking a passionate and skilled individual to help protect and celebrate Auckland’s heritage places and in particular, notable trees. If you have strong organisational and analytical skills, experience in information management, and a deep commitment to preserving heritage and notable trees, we want to hear from you!
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Are you passionate about Auckland’s historic and natural heritage, and skilled in managing information? As a Heritage Information Advisor, you will help maintain our database, refine record-keeping processes, and develop proactive programs to resolve schedule issues. Additionally, you’ll support technical specialists, assist with tree protection plan changes, and provide specialised advice for council processes.
Working on the Auckland Unitary Plan Notable Tree Schedule this role ensures we have accurate and robust information on all notable trees in the Auckland Region. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in preserving and celebrating Auckland’s heritage as part of a collaborative and passionate team.

You bring strong organisational and analytical skills, coupled with experience in information/knowledge management. Your familiarity of historic heritage, arboriculture and resource management planning, makes you an ideal candidate. You will be working across a multidisciplinary team where your excellent communication skills will be essential. Above all, your passion for preserving natural, cultural, and historic heritage drives your commitment to this role.
