Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to integrate network security outcomes into the overall enterprise architecture and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will provide executive-level guidance on network security matters, including risk assessments, threat intelligence, and incident response. What you'll do:

As a Security Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the network security landscape of our client's organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading the design and implementation of advanced network security solutions that align with strategic initiatives. You will work closely with other teams to integrate these solutions into the overall enterprise architecture. Providing executive-level guidance on all matters related to network security, you will conduct risk assessments, analyse threat intelligence, and respond to incidents promptly. Your role also involves implementing NZISM compliant network security policies, standards, and procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced and scalable network security solutions.
  • Work collaboratively to integrate network security outcomes into the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Provide executive-level guidance on network security matters.
  • Conduct risk assessments, threat intelligence analysis, and incident response.
  • Implement comprehensive NZISM compliant network security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks.
  • Lead the implementation of network security technologies and vulnerability management solutions.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Security Consultant position brings a wealth of industry experience and knowledge. You hold industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCIE or Microsoft Azure/defender or equivalent. Your understanding of NZISM is demonstrable and you are familiar with both the NZ Protective Security Requirement (PSR) and NZ Security Classification System. Your background includes experience in a leadership role related to network infrastructure, firewalls, IAM, vulnerability management as well as application and cloud security. You have deep knowledge of secure architecture, offensive security protocols and digital forensics secure coding practices. A strong understanding of Operational Technologies is also a key part of your skill set.

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCIE, Microsoft Azure/defender or equivalent
  • Demonstrable understanding of NZISM
  • Familiarity with the NZ Protective Security Requirement (PSR)
  • Familiarity with NZ Security Classification System
  • Experience in a network, infrastructure, Firewalls, IAM, vulnerability management, Application and Cloud security leadership role
  • Experience and deep Knowledge of secure architecture, offensive security, Threat hunting protocols, Digital Forensics secure coding practices.
  • Strong understanding of Operational Technologies.
