He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:
In this key role as First Officer Engineer, you will plan, organise, direct, coordinate and monitor the operation and work of the engineering department to ensure that systems and equipment are provided and cost effectively maintained in a safe and reliable condition.

You will ensure consistency with the principles of good marine engineering practice to maximise both the strategic and commercial objectives of Interislander.

Health and Safety is an important part of how KiwiRail operates. You will be a safety leader and will be expected to “walk the safety talk”.

Key accountabilities include responsibilities within:

  • Vessel operational performance
  • Strategy development and implementation
  • Leadership and relationship management
  • Records management
  • Health and safety
