Job Description
New Shoots Matamata generous in size and beautifully modern, a place where our tamariki feel at home in our bespoke early childhood centre.
We are currently looking for a qualified infants/toddlers kaiako to join our team in a fixed term contract covering maternity leave. Team culture is so important to us that we are looking for the right fit, someone who loves what they do, has fun while they are doing it and has the drive to constantly learn. You will have a kind, calm nature with a passion for nurturing our tamariki as well as the supportive knowledge base of a strong infants kaiako. This role is expected to start early/mid April and run through to late November 2025.
Our next kaiako will:
- Be a strong, compassionate, and kind teacher
- Be qualified and registered - A MUST
- Have tons of experience in creating a fun, engaging, and creative environment for our infants, to nurture and extend on their learning
- Show initiative and be motivated to work hard and lead by example
- Have fun when they work
- Have an ability to write exceptional learning stories, meticulous planning and documentation.
At New Shoots we have so much to offer:
- A stunning and supportive work environment
- Endless professional development opportunities
- Full pay parity
- Lower ratios for creating strong connections
- A great staff benefits package
- Wellbeing support through EAP
Local themes of hunting and farming run deep in our centre and there are endless opportunities to learn through genuine play and self-discovery. We encourage exploration - it is the foundation needed to develop problem solving and perseverance, confidence and resilience.
As early childhood educators we are inspired by the RIE and Pikler approach, so having experience in these would be a huge advantage and "right fit" for New Shoots.
