Are you a problem-solving enthusiast with a passion for .Net and C#? We're on the lookout for a driven Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to lead our small, passionate team.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a driven, Senior Fullstack Software Engineer who is proficient with .Net and C# and loves to solve problems. The successful candidate will lead a small, passionate team responsible for maintaining and evolving the NZME Radio websites and Driven Car Guide. We offer a flexible, supportive and fun environment where you will spearhead the development of features and provide technical expertise and recommendations to your team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Web Development, Design & Maintenance:
- Lead commercial initiatives by building new functionality.
- Develop and maintain site and application user experiences.
- Oversee platform maintenance and upgrades.
- Stay updated on technologies that enhance resiliency, scalability, and performance.
- Monitor and carry out performance tuning activities.
- Lead the development and release of robust digital applications for current and future needs.
- Ensure development project planning is effective to achieve deadlines and required timeframes.
- Write unit tests for your code and ensure code quality across the team.
- Develop prototypes quickly and guide the team in rapid prototyping.
- Have a deep understanding of our entire suite of products so you can better anticipate limitations.
- Ensure the team understands requirements, collaborating with Product Owners to baseline them.
- Identify application performance issues and implementing changes.
- Review and influence ongoing design, standards and methods of our engineering process.
- Research and be aware of other technologies, frameworks and hardware which could assist to achieve business goals.
Quality Management:
- Set and enforce standards set out by the team to ensure technical consistency.
- Ensure the application is secure and resilient to the effects of high traffic and malicious users.
- Ensure high quality through unit testing, standards and other quality measures.
- Follow and promote software best practices, using version control (e.g., Git) and SDLC for code management.
- Deliver secure code by updating packages, using code scans, and following security best practices.

Process Management and Reporting:
- Manage the development process within the go-to-market and development frameworks (inceptions to completion)
- Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, rules and standards, including relevant Acts, regulations, and industry body requirements.
- Create and maintain appropriate documentation to facilitate future enhancement and support of software code.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years' experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and Tailwind
- 5 years' experience with C# (ASP.NET Core MVC and API)
- 5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL or Azure SQL
- Significant experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure Cloud or GCP
- Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure Devops
- Deep understanding of responsive design principles and techniques, software architecture and design patterns.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Umbraco CMS
- JMeter or Azure Load Testing
- Azure Devops
- Solve complex problems
- Excellent communicator

This is a full time, permanent role, with the minimum hours being 40 per week, normally working between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
