Job Description
Kika's Kitchen is a busy Brazilian Restaurant located in Norh Shore. We also provide catering for business and private events. We are looking for a passionate, committed and dynamic Restaurant Manager to join our team and help elevate our guests' dining experience.
It’s a permanent and full-time role with minimum 30 hours a week, on rotating shifts between Mon-Sun, among the core business hours. The hourly rate for this position is $29.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with chefs on menu planning and pricing.
- Monitoring and analysing customer feedback, online reviews, and ratings to continuously improve the restaurant’s performance and address any issues promptly.
- Regularly assessing product quality and explore new suppliers.
- Handling customer complaints and resolve conflicts in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Managing and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring the availability of high-quality ingredients and products for the preparation of authentic Brazilian dishes.
- Setting high customer service standards and coach other staff to meet those standards.
- Fostering a positive work environment, fostering teamwork, open communication, and professional envelopment *Establish policies and procedures to sustain future restaurant operations.
Job pre-requisites
- Relevant qualification or at least 2-year experience in the hospitality industry.
- Leadership and good communication skills.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Brazilian cuisine would be advantageous, but not a must.
- Fluency in Portuguese language would be a big advantage as most of our clients are Brazilian, but not a must.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, problem solve and act quickly.
- Permanent work rights in New Zealand, with no restrictions.
