The Role:
We are looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in New Zealand to join our expanding team. This hybrid position provides a diverse range of experiences, including both Civil Engineering Design and Geotechnical fieldwork. You will have the opportunity to engage in civil engineering design projects involving earthworks, stormwater, wastewater, water, pavements, and land development, as well as contribute to hands-on fieldwork for soil investigations and site assessments.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
- Collaborate with our Hawke's Bay-based team to prepare technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Utilize 12D software for design purposes, including alignments, snippets, networks, and macros.
- Conduct site visits and geotechnical investigations, involving soil testing, analysis, and reporting.
- Work alongside senior engineers to develop practical, cost-effective solutions tailored to local conditions.
- Ensure all work complies with New Zealand regulations and local council standards.
- Support project proposals and contribute to client presentations.
- Mentor junior engineers and assist in their professional development.
- Participate in project management to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Adhere to company procedures and best practices to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Skills and Attributes:
- Proficient knowledge of 12D and AutoCAD for design, modelling, and drafting purposes.
- Experience in conducting site inspections, geotechnical investigations, construction monitoring, and preparing reports.
- Strong understanding of New Zealand engineering regulations and standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Regional experience in Hawke's Bay or the surrounding areas is advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of collaborative approach with other staff/stakeholders and clients.
- All applicants must have New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
Qualifications:
NZDE (Civil), Bachelor of Engineering Technology, or Bachelor of Engineering qualification.
A minimum of 5 years of New Zealand civil engineering experience in land development and/or infrastructure projects.

Salary:
Salary range is $90k - $110k per year + benefits and perks the company offers, dependant on applicants New Zealand experience, 12d knowledge and other aspects.
