Our crew in Christchurch are seeking an experienced Driver Operator to join our work whanau, deliver to project plans, and get home safely at the end of each day.

As a skilled operator, you will safely operate, navigate, and care for Class 4/5 machinery. Your day-to-day will include operation of machinery including loaders, excavators, and rollers to support road maintenance activities works.

This is a fantastic full time, permanent opportunity for a self-starter who truly embraces training and development. On offer is a supportive team environment and excellent prospects for career growth within the successful Downer team.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

As a Driver Operator, you will ideally have experience within the civil construction industry. We would also really value:

Full Class 4 or 5 Drivers License Required
Must have W,T,R Endorsements
A great work ethic with a strong focus on Safety and Quality
Strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solve
Great communication skills with the confidence to speak up
A high level of physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual tasks
Have a positive “can do” attitude
