Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Partnerships and Harm Prevention team aims to ensure there is a joined-up approach to harm prevention and reduction across Police and the wider government sector.

As the Senior Advisor – Methamphetamine Harm, you’ll work to ensure that Police, partner agencies, academic institutions, and non-government organisations are working together to support communities and understand methamphetamine harm reduction responses.

In this role you will work to understand the scale of methamphetamine harm, what works at reducing this harm, and provide strategic advice on how Police and partners can implement strategies to reduce this harm.

Key Accountabilities:

• Design and support Police’s contribution to a national response to methamphetamine harm reduction
• Relationship management with partners to promote collaboration across the sector
• Advice to members of the Police’s executive about methamphetamine harm
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate complex issues across the sector
• Provide governance support to cross government harm reduction programme

To be eligible for this role, you may be asked to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:

• A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
• A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

  Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,125 – $127,997 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
