Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY:
You’ll work as part of the homepage team to showcase and improve our journalism and drive engagement, audience and subscriptions.
You’ll help expand the NZ Herald’s audience and lift engagement with a focus on the metrics, priorities and content mix required to be New Zealand’s Herald and deliver on our strategic goals of being the number one news brand for all New Zealanders.
You will work with newsroom leaders, journalists, producers and audience engagement specialists responsible for programming, packaging and optimising Herald journalism across multiple platforms.
HOW YOU'LL DO IT:
As a key member of our editorial team, your work will be a mix of running the homepage, quality control, comment moderation (our platforms and social), selecting syndicated stories to publish, social media and assisting the newsroom through work such as producing live blogs, rewriting articles and more.
ABOUT YOU:
- You’ll have a relevant journalism qualification and be technically savvy.
- You’ll be comfortable with the daily demands of a busy newsroom.
- You will be innovative, skilled at thinking laterally and creatively, and be able to handle the pressure that comes with managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- You’ll be an excellent team player, foster a culture of excellence and inclusion, and will think strategically and with a vision to the future.
