About the role
Join our team as the Risk Lead at the Wise Group, a critical role in guiding the risk function across our organisation. In this position, you will take ownership of overseeing and managing our groupwide risk management efforts, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and success.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Support monitoring and performance against our Group wide strategic risks, reporting to our Risk Committee on both the strategic risks and organisation wide risks and opportunities.
  • Develop an operational risk framework, to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks that may impact the organisation’s operation, reputation and sustainability goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk mitigation plans are in place and regularly reviewed with a view to constant quality improvement.
  • Be a trusted advisor, going beyond expectations to meet customer needs in line with organisational priorities.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, sector standards and reporting requirements related to risk management.
  • This role is working Monday to Friday with the flexibility to work from both home and the office. Our office is based in Hamilton East. Ideally this role will be full time, however we would look to consider part time for the right candidate.

We're seeking a candidate with a deep understanding of risk management frameworks, and the ability to communicate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. An ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders is essential. Experience in a similar role and a relevant qualification is required. Familiarity with frameworks like ISO 31000, experience in large organisation’s and knowledge of for-purpose organisations are advantages.
