Our client is looking for Agricultural Engineer in the Hawke's Bay area at King Street, Hastings.

About Role:

  • Manage the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of agricultural plant and machinery.
  • Abide by company Health and Safety policies.
  • Work with the Crop Supply Manager and Engineering staff to understand and effect best possible agricultural operations outcomes.
  • Ensure documentation of any work is maintained.
  • Advise and assist external contractors where required to achieve best outcomes.


Your Key Skills:

  • Repair if able,or arrange repair by suitably qualified contractors any breakdowns.
  • Ensure responsibility for your own and others working with you, safety.
  • Communicate any variations or unexpected outcomes as soon and accurately as possible. Be mindful of work demands, working hours, on call hours etc
  • All pre-start checks, periodic and scheduled maintenance, and external service provider work.
  • Understand seasonality of the industry, aim to overhaul in winter and maintain and repair during the season and manage personal workload to allow for this.


Licenses Required for role:

  • Necessary licenses to operate machinery as required, minimum full Class 1
  • Desired not necessary Trade certificates or qualifications in welding, fabrication, engineering, and mechanical repair


Experience for the role:

  • Desired Knowledgeable in the various items of plant and equipment
  • Previous experience in agricultural machinery fabrication and maintenance
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement / Project management
