We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Sexton to help maintain our facilities and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all.

Job Summary

The Sexton plays a vital role in the daily operations of our property, ensuring that the building and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and ready for services, events, and gatherings. This role involves a mix of custodial duties, light maintenance, and event setup/takedown.

Specifics:

• Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 4pm
• ASAP start – 12m contract
• West Auckland location
• Full clean Driver’s License required

Key Responsibilities:

• Facility Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, trash removal, and minor repairs to keep the surrounding property and surrounding in excellent condition.
• Event Support: Set up and take down tables, chairs, and other equipment for services, meetings, and special events.
• Security & Safety: Ensure the building is properly opened and secured before and after events. Monitor for safety hazards and report necessary repairs.
• Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, lawns, and gardens, and assist with seasonal tasks like snow removal or leaf clearing.
• Collaboration: Work closely with staff, volunteers, and vendors to support the smooth operation of the property.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in maintenance, custodial work, or a similar role preferred.
• Basic handyman skills for minor repairs.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to keeping the property clean and welcoming.
• A respect for the mission and values of the property
