About the Role

As a Reliever Teacher, you'll step into vibrant early childhood environments, support kaiako, and share in the wonder of learning with our tamariki. Whether it’s leading storytime, joining imaginative play, or offering a helping hand during kai time — your contribution matters.

You’ll work across multiple BestStart centres, getting a feel for different settings while building your own rhythm, skills, and relationships.

What You’ll Need

  • NZ Registered Teacher (ECE or Primary) – Provisional or Full
  • NZ teaching qualification (Level 7 minimum)
  • If your qualification is from overseas, it must be NZQA assessed at Level 7 or above and endorsed for ECE teaching
  • References from two previous Managers
  • A positive, flexible attitude and a heart for tamariki
  • Eligibility to work in Aotearoa
