  • This is a permanent, part time role (12 hours a week) at our Ponsonby Kindergarten

The Organisation

Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) has been a leader in Early Childhood Education (ECE) since 1908. With 107 kindergartens, four KiNZ centres, and a dedicated support team, we are committed to providing high-quality education for tamariki across Auckland.

The Role

Ponsonby Kindergarten offers a rewarding opportunity to support our Kaiako to make a lasting impact on young lives. Join our vibrant hapori and embark on a journey of fostering curious minds and empowering tamariki!

Be part of an amazing team in a fun environment where tamariki are the focus. You will work closely with both kaiako and other support staff, as well as our kindergarten whānau whilst primarily being responsible for the day-to-day administration processes, including enrolments, accounts and providing support to the Head Kaiako and teaching team.

Things to note

  • This is a permanent, part time position. There is flexibility in the 12 hours per week which can be spread over 3 days
  • You will only be working during the Kindergarten term time
  • The terms and conditions for this position are set out in the Kindergarten Associations Support Staff Collective Agreement


To be successful in this role you will

  • have previous administration and accounts experience, preferably in an Early Childhood environment, but this is not essential.
  • be a confident communicator displaying professional maturity with a calm manner.
  • able to build and maintain outstanding relationships with our diverse community.
  • be flexible, adaptable and a collaborative team player who is not afraid to pitch in where needed.
  • be able to self-manage, uses initiative, and work independently to achieve positive outcomes.
  • have strong computer skills (preferably using Mac).
  • have strong attention to detail and be organised.
  • Have a sense of humour and be a team player.
