About the Company:
A really unique opportunity has come up for an Employment Solicitor to join a team of employment law specialists who are opening a new office in the South Island! This boutique firm offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the world of employment law within a practice that offers great flexibility and work/life balance.


What you'll do:
We are looking for someone with 2+ years experience in employment law to join this firm’s brand new Christchurch office. Be part of creating the culture as you work alongside a Senior Associate to start building your brand in the South Island with the leverage of a team behind you based across the North Island.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include a variety of employment law issues, including leading cases, representing clients, staying informed about legislative changes, fostering relationships, providing strategic counsel, and collaborating effectively with the team.

  • Take the initiative on employment law cases, focusing on achieving effective outcomes for clients.
  • Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, and proceedings before the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative changes and industry trends to maintain service excellence.
  • Deliver high-quality legal advice, conduct thorough research, and draft essential documents for both contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
  • Work closely with the team to support clients and contribute to the firm’s growth and success.


We are looking for someone who is admitted to the bar in New Zealand, who has worked in the area of Employment Law within New Zealand, and who has a comprehensive understanding of New Zealand’s employment legislation.
