Restaurant Manager – The Smoko Room at Sawmill Brewery
📍 Location: Matakana, New Zealand
📅 Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
💰 Pay Rate: $28 - $33 per hour (depending on experience)

We’re looking for a Restaurant Manager to join our team at The Smoko Room, Sawmill Brewery’s on-site restaurant and taproom. Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the team, driving service excellence, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our venue.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Leading and motivating the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding service.
• Supporting the Restaurant General Manager in the overall operation of the venue.
• Managing daily service, reservations, and customer experience.
• Training and developing staff to maintain high standards.
• Assisting with stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
• Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and food quality.
• Handling customer feedback and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience in a leadership role within hospitality.
• A genuine passion for food, beer, and exceptional service.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead by example and create a positive, high-performing team environment.
• Experience with rostering, stock management, and operational procedures.
• LCQ certification and Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
