Are you an experienced Dispatcher looking for a role where you can truly make an impact? We have an exciting opportunity at our Mid Canterbury base for a highly organised, proactive, and skilled dispatcher to join our team!

This is primarily an office-based role, but from time to time, you’ll get hands-on, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll be at the heart of our operations, managing the daily logistics of a fleet of 12 drivers—ensuring all pick-ups and deliveries are completed on time.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Overseeing and coordinating the daily movements of our drivers across the Canterbury region
• Managing schedules, assigning jobs, and adjusting plans to handle unexpected challenges
• Maintain communication with drivers to ensure timely updates and smooth operations
• Troubleshooting and thinking on your feet to handle last-minute changes, delays, or obstacles
• Working closely with customers and management to provide outstanding service and ensure all commitments are met

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring:

• A Class 5 licence – essential for understanding the demands of the job
• Experience in transport logistics – you know how to manage schedules, coordinate drivers, and overcome logistical hurdles
• Computer literacy – you know how to use email, word and Transport Software
• A strong understanding of work-time and logbook requirements – ensuring compliance and efficiency
• Excellent communication skills – you’ll be liaising with drivers, customers, and management daily
• Great knowledge of the Canterbury region – familiarity with local routes, traffic patterns, and transport regulations is a big advantage
