Social Infrastructure & Citizen Services delivers the critical thinking, building, maintenance and sustainment behind Australia and New Zealand’s essential public assets, facilities and community services. Be it through facilities management of critical public assets, precinct upgrades, new energy solutions or professional and technical advisory. We run places of healthcare and education, custodial facilities, we manage customer data centres and critical systems, we take asset management risk over 25 years through our portfolio of Public Private Partnership (PPP) contracts, and we are a trusted advisor and partner to our New Zealand and Australian Defence Forces.
Job Description
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
A Zero Harm Business Partner provides the expert Health & Safety technical advice, management system guidance and practical support to leaders and staff across the Social Infrastructure division.
Also contributes to the growth and success of the defined portfolio they support by working in partnership with and coaching / influencing the behaviour of others as required.
You will be responsible for but not limited to;
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on all Zero Harm related matters, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees.
- Facilitate the development of a Zero Harm leadership culture within Social Infrastructure that is focused on manger-led delivery of positive Zero Harm outcomes.
- Implementation of The Downer Standard (TDS) and processes.
- Support delivery and implementation of the Zero Harm Strategy and ensure performance objectives / outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes.
- Work closely with Line of Business leaders, contract managers and employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Obtain and share Zero Harm knowledge and learning to influence business led proactive risk management.
- Facilitate professional and timely investigation of incidents within business areas or lead complex investigations utilising ICAM or equivalent methodology.
- Conduct and assist in the development and delivery of training / coaching as required.
- Assist business areas to understand their Zero Harm risk profile and conduct incident trend analysis as required.
- Monitoring and communicating legislative changes and best practice initiatives to management and all workers.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
- At least 4+ years’ practical experience within a Workplace Health & Safety or OHS related role.
- WHS/OHS legislation / application to an organisation with multiple operating contexts.
- Strong skills / experience in conduct of risk assessments and verification of site safety management plans.
- Ability to write professional reports and present key findings to line / middle and senior management.
- Conduct of WHS/OHS management system and/or environmental management system audits, within the past 2 years.
- Experience providing technical health, safety and environmental advice across multiple industry sectors.
- Injury Management and Workers Compensation.
- Exposure to high-risk industries, preferably construction, infrastructure or FM (preferred).
