Senior Business Partner Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Wellington Our client is seeking a Senior Business Partner for an 18-month fixed term contract. This role is pivotal in the successful development and delivery of their People Strategy, guiding their team through culture change, talent development, and enhancing operational excellence. You will be instrumental in driving people-related projects to streamline processes and lead change management on specific enterprise projects. What you'll do:

As a Senior Business Partner, your role will be multifaceted, encompassing a range of responsibilities that are integral to the success of the organisation. You will provide expert advice on complex people issues, lead on employee relations matters, and contribute significantly to talent development. Your expertise will be crucial in developing recruitment strategies that attract top talent. Additionally, you will deliver core people processes across your portfolio and coach People Leaders to enhance their leadership capabilities.

  • Provide trusted advice with specialist knowledge on complex people issues and initiatives
  • Take the lead on complex employee relations issues providing sound advice and guidance
  • Contribute to developing and retaining talent through leading workforce planning, talent management and succession planning
  • Develop and implement successful recruitment strategies
  • Deliver core people processes such as job sizing, remuneration and performance reviews
  • Provide coaching to People Leaders to build their leadership capability


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Business Partner role brings significant experience as a strategic business partner within an HR environment. You possess a deep understanding of employee relations and are well-versed in New Zealand employment legislation. Your proven experience in leading end-to-end change management processes will be invaluable in this role. Your expert knowledge of HR best practices across various areas will enable you to provide comprehensive advice and guidance. Your ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity coupled with your problem-solving skills will be key to your success.

  • Significant experience as a strategic business partner in an HR environment
  • Deep understanding of employee relations and employment legislation in New Zealand
  • Proven experience in leading end-to-end change management processes
  • Expert knowledge of HR best practice across areas such as performance management, remuneration, job sizing, workforce planning, and employee engagement
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity with well-developed problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge and successful delivery building an organisation’s capability including leadership capability
